Cranberry – Product Scanner (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a mobile app for scanning product barcodes and ingredients to display dietary, allergen, and safety information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and your choices.
If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Account data: If you create an account, we may collect your email address, display name, password, or identifiers from Sign in with Apple/Google.
Preferences: Allergies and dietary settings you choose to store.
Support: Messages or attachments you send to support.
Information Collected Automatically
Device and app data: Device model, iOS version, app version, diagnostics, language, and time zone.
Usage data: Screens viewed, feature use, crash logs, and performance.
Log data: Barcode values, ingredient lists you scan, timestamp, and region derived from IP for server security.
Scans and Photos
Images you upload (ingredient lists, barcodes) are used to extract product information for you and improve app accuracy.
How We Use Your Information
To provide and improve the app’s barcode and ingredient scanning features.
To personalize your experience (dietary and allergen recommendations).
To ensure safety/security and diagnose issues.
To analyze anonymous usage trends (if analytics is enabled; you may opt out).
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. Data may be shared with:
Service providers (Firebase, Google Analytics if enabled, support tools) for hosting, processing, analytics, and diagnostics only.
Legal authorities if required to comply with applicable laws, legal requests, or to protect users and our service.
As part of business transfers (merger/acquisition) subject to notice and your rights.
Third-Party Services
We use Google Firebase for app hosting. If enabled, Google Analytics for Firebase measures usage trends; you may opt out in app settings or your device.
Our app may link to third-party services or websites. Their privacy practices apply; please review their policies separately.

If you reside in California, you have the right to:

Children
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe such data has been submitted, contact us for deletion.
Security
We implement technical and organizational safeguards (encryption, access controls). No system is perfectly secure; please protect your credentials.
Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active, or until requested for deletion.
Scanned barcode/product/ingredient data is retained only as needed for improving recognition and accuracy.
Usage and crash logs are kept for short periods for diagnostics, then deleted or anonymized.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email, and continued use means you accept the updated policy.
